Feel your best

Choose outfits that you love and feel amazing in. Wear them around the house for a little while to see if you are comfortable moving around in your outfit. You don’t want to be uncomfortable and tugging at your clothes the whole time. Have someone take a quick iPhone photo of you in your outfit to get a better idea of how it photographs to make sure you love the way it looks on you. Do one last try-on a day or two before the shoot to make sure everything is ready to go. Drink plenty of water the week leading up to the session. It will make you feel better and your skin will be nice and hydrated.

Have fun

The best photos always come from couples who put aside the fear of “looking silly” and just have a good time with each other. The more playful you are with each other leading up to your session the easier it will be to do it naturally. Reflect on what makes your partner laugh; a ticklish spot, a funny phrase, a silly voice. Store those up in your memory so you can whip them out during the shoot to create real moments that reflect your real connection.

Connect with your partner

Yes, your session is about getting you epic photos, but it’s also about the two of you having an adventure you’ll never forget! Try to be present and focused on your partner. If you’re looking at your partner during the shoot and are struck by how handsome/gorgeous they are, tell them! If you’re standing there close and feel the urge to kiss them, do it! These small things will help show your real emotions and reactions. During your shoot we’ll probably have you snuggled up real close. Instead of worrying about how you look, enjoy this excuse to be close to your partner. Try to put aside thoughts of if you’re ‘posing’ in the right way, and think about how amazing his/her arms feel around you, how wonderful they smell, how incredible it is that you’ve found such great love!

Keep on movin’

Once we’ve set you up in a spot try to not stay still. Hug, kiss, joke, laugh, pull each other in closer, spin her, start dancing, tell her/him something you love about the them. We’ll gently guide you into a more flattering position if necessary. We’ve got your back so you can just enjoy spending time together!
